What to Know Before You Staff Boston

The rules and realities that shape a Boston quote, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

  • Weekly Overtime Only

Massachusetts pays overtime after 40 hours in a week, with no daily overtime, so long festival days don't trigger it on their own. We build shifts to keep weekly hours in check.

  • Three-Hour Minimum on Site

Under Massachusetts's reporting-pay rule, staff scheduled for three or more hours who are sent home early still get paid for at least three. Short shifts are fine, but plan them as short from the start.

  • Dress for the Season

Boston's busiest weeks fall in April, May and October, when outdoor days can start cold and end warm. We plan uniforms with layers and keep a weather plan for outdoor activations.

FAQ

Boston Staffing Questions

Do you use local staff in Boston?

Yes. Boston programs are staffed with local brand ambassadors who know the venues, from the Harvard Athletic Complex to the convention center. For tours that include Boston, we staff the other stops from our teams in those cities.

How far ahead should we book for Boston Calling or Marathon week?

As early as you can. Marathon week and Boston Calling land a few weeks apart in spring and draw on the same experienced staff. Even on a short timeline, send the request. We respond to every quote within 48 hours.

Can you staff conferences at the convention center?

Yes. We staff booths, registration and brand programs at conferences, and we can brief staff on your product ahead of the show so they can talk about it with confidence.

What roles can you staff in Boston?

Brand ambassadors, promotional and trade show models, street teams, production assistants and guest services teams for festivals, race days, game nights, conferences and brand events.
