What to Know Before You Staff Miami

The rules and realities that shape a Miami quote, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

  • Weekly Overtime, a Yearly Wage Step

Florida follows the federal weekly overtime rule: time and a half after 40 hours in a week, with no daily overtime, so long single days don't trigger it. The state minimum wage steps up every September 30, and quotes for events after that date reflect the new rate.

  • Sampling in Miami Beach Needs a Permit

Brand promotion or sampling in Miami Beach needs the city's Brand Promotion / Temporary Sampling Permit. It covers a mobile team of up to five people or a stationary 10x10 space, and mobile teams can't use tables or tents. Applications go in at least 14 working days ahead, so tell us early.

  • Bilingual Staff, If You Need Them

Plenty of Miami programs run in English and Spanish. Tell us if you need bilingual staff when you send the brief, and we'll build the team around it. Every team is briefed on your brand before doors open.

FAQ

Miami Staffing Questions

Do you use local staff in Miami?

Yes. Miami programs are staffed from our local roster. For tours that include Miami, like a campus tour, we staff the other stops from our teams in those cities.

How far ahead should we book for Latin Music Week, Art Basel or F1 Miami?

As early as you can. Those weeks draw on the same experienced brand ambassadors, and the best people get booked first. Even on a short timeline, send the request. We respond to every quote within 48 hours.

Does Florida overtime change the quote?

Not much. Florida follows the federal weekly overtime rule, after 40 hours in a week, with no daily overtime. The one date to watch is September 30, when the state minimum wage steps up each year. We'll flag anything like that in your quote.

Do we need a permit for sampling in Miami Beach?

Yes. Brand promotion and sampling in Miami Beach need the city's Brand Promotion / Temporary Sampling Permit, which covers a mobile team of up to five or a stationary 10x10 space. Mobile teams can't use tables or tents, and you should apply at least 14 working days ahead. We'll help you plan the activation around those rules.

What roles can you staff in Miami?

Brand ambassadors, promotional and trade show models, spokesmodels, emcees, street teams, production assistants and guest services teams. Tell us if you need bilingual staff and we'll include it in the plan.
