What to Know Before You Staff San Diego
The rules and realities that shape a San Diego quote, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Daily Overtime and Required Breaks
California pays overtime by the day: time and a half after 8 hours and double time after 12, plus a rule for the seventh day in a row. Staff get a 30-minute meal break on shifts over 5 hours and a 10-minute rest break for every 4 hours. San Diego also sets its own city minimum wage. We build all of it into the quote.
Comic-Con Week Downtown
Comic-Con fills the San Diego Convention Center, and the crowds spill into the Gaslamp Quarter next door. If your activation sits outside the hall, tell us where, and we'll plan call times, breaks and meeting points around the foot traffic.

Do you use local staff in San Diego?
San Diego programs are staffed from our Southern California roster, with local talent wherever we can. For tours that include San Diego, we staff the other stops from our teams in those cities.
How far ahead should we book for Comic-Con?
As early as you can. Comic-Con week draws on the same experienced brand ambassadors, and the best people get booked first. Even on a short timeline, send the request. We respond to every quote within 48 hours.
Does California overtime change the quote?
Yes, more than in most states. California overtime starts after 8 hours in a day, with double time after 12, and staff are owed meal and rest breaks during the shift. San Diego also has its own city minimum wage. We'll show how your shift lengths affect the rate in your quote.
Do you staff game days and sports events in San Diego?
